(KNOX) -The medication drop off day in Grand Forks Tuesday was a success.

Carma Hanson of Safe Kids Grand Forks said they took in a lot of unwanted medicines.

“We were able to collect just shy of 100 pounds of medications that will be properly disposed of by being incinerated,” Hanson told KNOX News.

If you didn’t make it to the medication drop-off day, there are places you can take your unwanted medicine.

“They certainly can go into one of the law enforcement centers in town: East Grand Forks Police Department, Downtown Law Enforcement Center or the UND Police Department, or any of hundreds of pharmacies across the State of North Dakota,” Hanson said.

The medication take back day was held in the parking lot near Perkins on Columbia Road in Grand Forks.
