(KNOX) -Grand Forks City Council approved a final budget of $299,000 Monday evening.

Mayor Brandon Bochenski said he was grateful to the council members for their work on the spending plan.

“Just want thank the council. It always hasn’t been easy, but we have managed to make projects better by the debates that we’ve had up here, and what we prioritize,” said Bochenski said.

A public hearing on the budget was held before it was approved by the city council.

“The amount of projects that have the red ink next to it that got done, I think that’s pretty amazing. You’re going to see another list,” Bochenski said.

Bochenski acknowledged the new council members on the board who helped in the process.

“Some of the new council members, you may have not been part of those, but it really helped that you are a big part of some of these in the future, and more. There is certainly more that council can add to this list,” Bochenski told the new members.

The new members were elected in June. They are Ward Three Council Member Tricia Lunski and Ward Five Council Member Mike Fridolfs.
