(KNOX) – Grand Forks School Superintendent Dr. Terry Brenner has once again avoided disciplinary action from a special meeting of the Grand Forks School Board.
Assistant superintendent Catharine Gillach said Brenner had made unfair allegations against her… evolving into a hostile work environment.
Investigator Amber Flynn says the Grand Forks School District does not have “a policy that defines hostile work environment.”
The allegations were uncontested by Brenner. Flynn’s investigation concluded there was no evidence nor violation of school board policy or law, but that Brenner’s actions created an atmosphere of tension and mistrust.
Flynn recommended no disciplinary action but to have Brenner meet with a leadership coach, someone she says should be identified within a week or two.
Flynn’s recommendations passed on a 4-3 vote.

Valley Bus manager John McGlaughlin says the company’s second year of service to the Grand Forks School District will begin with more than two dozen drivers and paras to handle 21 morning shifts, four midday routes, and 23 afternoon shifts.
The Grand Forks School Board moved to accept gasoline bids to fill those buses from Gateway Cenex and Circle K.
The board also moved to accept a bid from M & W Services and Fert-L-Lawn for snow removal.

The Grand Forks Youth Behavior Study of 870 students in grades eight, nine and eleven indicates the use of tobacco and alcohol has gone down over a seven year-period, while peer disapproval for tobacco use and alcohol has gone up.
The survey is financed by a matching grant from Drug Free Communities that questions student perceptions and abuses of tobacco, alcohol, prescription drugs, marijuana, vaping and prevention.
