Boats line up early for Cats Incredible

(KNOX) – Dozens of anglers lined up at 6:30 this morning to back their boats into the Red River for the 2024 Cats Incredible fishing tournament in East Grand Forks.
Tournament director Paul Hansen told KNOX that more than 65 teams are signed up for two days of trolling for catfish.
Fishing lasts until 6 p.m. tonight. Fishing lines and nets can be dropped in the water from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Teams can weigh in five catfish each day, of which two can be longer than 24 inches.
Hansen says the catfish bite has been picking up during the week.
The primary sponsor of Cats Incredible is the East Grand Forks Firefighters Union.

The boats navigated through buoys near public access points on the river. The buoys regulate speeds near Lincoln Park boat landing, the floating docks near Riverboat Road, and the East Grand Forks LaFave boat landing.
Two addition danger markers are placed upstream near Riverside Dam. Boat operators violating the regulatory markers are subject to a $75 fine.
