(KNOX) – There are a couple of tax increases to be voted on in Traill County that KNOX is covering for the June Primary.
North Dakota’s oldest public library in Mayville wants to hire a full-time library director…and reduce the need for volunteers. The June 11 ballot includes a five-mill property tax increase to benefit Mayville Public Library.
Eighteen miles to the east in Hillsboro, the question is a half-cent city sales tax increase to support the construction of a new fire hall for Hillsboro Fire and Rescue. If passed, that increase could later be converted to a quarter-cent tax to pay for operating expenses.
The City of Portland will also elect a new mayor on June 11.
