(KNOX) – The executive director of the Grand Forks Airport Authority just returned from the Jump Start Air Service Development Conference in Washington, DC.
Ryan Riesinger says the object is to meet with several commercial airlines with a goal to add local flights and seats.
Riesinger said that Delta Airlines is receptive to reestablishing a fourth daily flight out of Grand Forks International Airport.
Riesinger says the nationwide pilot shortage seems to be stabilizing, though regional air carriers are still trying to find captains.
He says the passage of the FAA Reauthorization Bill should give GFK stability to go forward with the primary runway project. The board moved for a change order that covers grinding costs of the runway.
The board moved to apply the remaining funds of an 18-million dollar CARES grant… received in 2020… toward GFK operating expenses.
The board also passed its Title Six anti-discrimination plan…and moved to recommend that board member Tim Mutchler be reappointed to another five-year term on the Grand Forks County Commission. Mutchler has been on the Airport Authority Board since 1988.
