Seat belt, child restraint and speeding patrols to increase in Minnesota through Labor Day

(KNOX) – The period from Memorial Day through Labor Day is frequently referred to as the one hundred deadly days of summer… because of the high number of crashes and lost lives during this period.
Area law enforcement agencies including the Minnesota State Patrol, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and the Crookston and East Grand Forks police departments are conducting extra enforcement… focused on seat belt or child restraint violations through June 2.
In addition, extra officers will monitor speed enforcement through September 2.
East Grand Forks Police Chief Michael Hedlund says slow down and buckle up… every trip… every time.
