(KNOX) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has signed legislation that will protect consumers and assure they can purchase tickets for their favorite events without having to empty their pockets to pay hidden fees.

Chapter 94 House File 1989 creates several reforms related to the sale, advertisement, and resale of tickets.

The bill requires ticket resellers and online ticket marketplaces to disclose the total cost of a ticket…including fees and charges.

The bill prohibits more than one copy of a ticket being sold.

People can no longer stand in line to purchase tickets for resale.

Ticket sellers and resellers may be sued if they wrong a purchaser.
