(KNOX) – A Fargo man awaits sentencing after a district court jury found Patrick Opdahl guilty of Possession of a machine gun and possession of an unregistered silencer.
His arrest happened in February 2023 when an argument with his parents prompted Opdahl to pull out a firearm and shoot at the ceiling.
His parents escaped unharmed…but Opdahl engaged Fargo Police officers and SWAT units in a standoff.
Eventually, negotiators were able to talk Opdahl into peacefully surrendering to law enforcement. They learned that Opdahl possessed several ghost guns
Privately made firearms – more commonly known as “ghost guns” – are especially attractive because they’re untraceable.
