County swings for the fences and looks to bid Eagle Avenue paving

(KNOX) – Grand Forks County engineer Nick West shared the good news with the County Commission about funding to pave a dangerous six-mile stretch of Eagle Avenue… or County Road 25.
The road that straddles the Grand Forks/Traill County line has been a safety concern for sugar beet growers in both counties.
An issue is that the agreement with Traill County and the North Dakota Department of Transportation needs to be in house before the $5.8 million dollar project can be awarded.
West recommended taking a leap of faith and try to bid the project within the next two weeks.
Commissioners also moved to award CPS as consulting engineers for the Manvel Bridge.
The County named KLJ Engineering as consultants for the proposed bridge on County Road 5.
