(KNOX) -The Kirk Cousins era in Minnesota is over. The veteran quarterback has agreed to terms on a four-year, $180 million deal, $100 million guaranteed, with the Atlanta Falcons. The deal can’t be signed until Wednesday…when the new league year begins.

Cousins gets a $50 million signing bonus and his salaries for 2024 and 2025 are guaranteed. Cousins’ wife, Julie, grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Cousins has the second-most passing touchdowns in Vikings’ history with 171. He is working his way back from a torn Achilles tendon in his right foot that sidelined him because of an injury for the first time in his career.

The Vikings ended the season rotating Joshua Dobbs, Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens as signal-callers.

The Falcons have a road game scheduled for U.S. Bank Stadium in 2024.

Three big-name running backs are off the board: Josh Jacobs to the Green Bay Packers, D’Andre Swift to the Chicago Bears and Tony Pollard to the Tennessee Titans.
