Hoeven working to bring church group home

U.S. Senator John Hoeven says he has been in contact with the State Department to ensure there is a plan to bring the North Dakotans home who were traveling in Israel when the Hamas-led terrorists attacked. Hoeven says he spoke with Father Phil Ackerman of Holy Catholic Church who says the group has made their way to Jordan. According to Hoeven the ambassador’s office will work with the group and assist them in securing flights out of the region.

Governor Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff until sunset Friday, (Oct. 13) as a mark of respect for the victims of the attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists. The Governor’s Residence also will be lit up in blue and white, the colors of the Israeli flag in a show of support.
