ND session comes to a close

By Doug Barrett May 1, 2023 | 8:45 AM

In his final remarks on the House floor North Dakota Minority Leader Josh Boshee said the just concluded session will be marked by overreaching local control and parental rights.

Boshee says the hypocrisy of the 2023 session is perhaps the most offensive.  “Prior to the session starting many North Dakotans were concerned how extreme this session would be.  Unfortunately those concerns were realized.”

Boshee says while many good things occurred during the session – the legislature opted to take away parental control in the medical decisions for their children in consultation with a health care provider.

Boshee also announced that Grand Forks Representative Zac Ista will assume the role of minority leader moving forward.  In a prepared statement Ista stated “My friend and mentor Rep. Josh Boschee leaves a lasting legacy of accomplishments for our caucus and our state. I’m grateful he will continue to serve in leadership to help me learn and grow.”

The House and Senate adjourned during the early morning hours on Saturday.
