GF County to review job description

By Doug Barrett Jan 31, 2023 | 9:19 AM

The Administrative Services Committee – made up of members of the Grand Forks County Commission – have agreed to form a four member panel to review the job description for the Director of Administration.

Tom Ford – who holds the position – has seen his duties change and expand over the years. The discussion about duties morphed into a larger discussion about all departments and personnel. Commissioner Dave Engen says it’s an ongoing process.  “For those of you who are managers we may need to look in your areas.  We want to work with the job descriptions in conjunction with the salary study.”

Grand Forks Sheriff Andy Schneider questioned the need for the special committee and urged the commission to address the needs of all employees.

The committee will consist of Engen…Commission Chairman Bob Rost…State’s Attorney Haley Wamstead…and Michele Thiel from human resources.
