By Doug Barrett Nov 1, 2022 | 7:31 AM

Although it’s still early in the season Saturday’s loss to Arizona State in Las Vegas not only dropped the UND hockey team in the latest national polls but has landed the team at the 31st spot in the Pairwise rankings.

North Dakota is ranked 10th in the USCHO poll and 11th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

UND opens conference play this weekend with a series at Omaha.

Last weekend, UND (3-3-1) dropped a 3-2 decision to Arizona State in the 2022 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Fighting Hawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals from Gavin Hain (5) and Jake Schmaltz (3), but the Sun Devils rallied to tie the game in the second period before a goal just 24 seconds into the third gave ASU the victory.

The Fighting Hawks are looking to become the first team in NCHC and program history to win four consecutive regular season crowns.
