By Pat Sweeney Oct 30, 2022 | 1:20 PM

Arizona State struck for a trio of unanswered goals to rally from a 2-0 deficit to defeat No. 6/7 North Dakota, 3-2, on Saturday evening in the 2022 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

UND (3-3-1) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead less than nine minutes into the game on goals from Gavin Hain and Jake Schmaltz, but the Sun Devils (5-4-0) rallied with a strike in each frame to steal the victory.

Robert Mastrosimone capped off the comeback with his fifth goal of the season just 24 seconds into the third period to stun the 15,503 fans who were mostly clad in green. Matthew Kopperud and Lukas Sillinger each struck on the power play for the Sun Devils, who finished 2-for-3 with the man advantage.

North Dakota will open NCHC play next weekend with a trip to Omaha to battle the Mavericks on Friday and Saturday night from Baxter Arena.
