ND man sentenced to 30 years on child porn charges

A Spirit Lake (ND) man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for production and distribution of child pornography.

Twenty-nine-year-old Johnson Shae Tollefson had pleaded guilty in February.

U-S District Chief Judge Peter Welte also sentenced Tollefson lifetime supervised release … and ordered Tollefson to pay $12,000 restitution to four victims depicted in the images.

Authorities say the Tumblr website alerted law enforcement that child porn images were uploaded in 2019 by a user later identified as Tollefson.

They say Tollefson produced the porn in Dilworth (MN) depicting a toddler-aged girl. While in North Dakota, Tollefson distributed the porn to other Tumblr users in exchange for other child porn.

Federal grand juries in Minnesota and North Dakota returned indictments. The two cases were combined for sentencing.
