GFPD: Arrests made in in two separate pursuits

Grand Forks police were involved in two separate early morning pursuits.  Both ended with the driver being placed under arrest.  Here is the full GFPD statement on each incident:

On May 8th, 2021 Officers with the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to a report of a stolen motor vehicle that had just occurred. Officers located the vehicle northbound on N. Washington St. and a motor vehicle pursuit was initiated.  Officers followed the vehicle for several blocks attempting to get it to stop.  Officers lost the vehicle and the pursuit was terminated.  

A short time later this same vehicle was located at the Loaf N’ Jug and an officer attempted to make contact with the female driver.  The female again fled from officers, travelling westbound on Gateway Drive out of town where she was pursued by GFSO Deputies.  GFSO Deputies apprehended the female in Grand Forks County.

The driver was identified as 21 YO Farah Darco from Grand Forks, ND. She was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center by deputies.

Charges are pending for Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

On May 8th, 2021 at approximately 5:04am officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of 8th Ave. North for a report of a violation of a disorderly conduct restraining order in progress.  As officers arrived to the area the suspect vehicle was seen leaving but they lost sight of it.  Officers re-located the vehicle and attempted a vehicle stop in the 1100 block of North 5th St.  The vehicle pulled over for a short time but the male driver, and lone occupant, of the vehicle refused to exit.  The driver then fled at low speed and eventually stopped in the 800 block of Cherry St.  The driver, identified as 37 y.o., Grand Forks resident, Wesley Johannessohn was taken into custody without further incident.  Johannessohn was charged with violation of a disorderly conduct restraining order, DUI, DUI refusal, reckless driving and fleeing in a motor vehicle.
