Drug suspect arrested near Crookston

By Doug Barrett Apr 21, 2021 | 12:44 PM

A suspected drug dealer is behind bars after a brush with law enforcement in northwest Minnesota.  The Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force attempted to stop the suspect yesterday (Tuesday) en route from Grand Forks (ND) to Crookston (MN).   Authorities believe 35-year old Eric Baldwin was planning to distribute methamphetamine in the Crookston area.

During a planned traffic stop Baldwin was able to maneuver around multiple law enforcement vehicles.  Officers backed off the chase due to traffic and eventually lost sight of the suspect vehicle.  A short time later Baldwin was spotted on foot.  Polk County K-9 Officer Buffy was on scene and Baldwin surrendered without further incident.

A statement from the Pine to Prairie Drug task Force says the investigation is ongoing and formal charges will be filed at a later date.
