ND oil & gas numbers climb

By Doug Barrett Nov 16, 2023 | 8:50 AM

September was a good month for oil and gas production.

Mineral Resource Director Lynn Helms says oil production was up four-and-a-half percent and gas was up four-percent.

As for the revenue from oil and gas taxes, as well as oil prices, Helms says they are well-above the Legislature’s revenue forecast – and that means state government, as well as local governments, will benefit from the extra cash.

Oil production was just under 1.3 million barrels per day in September.

Gas capture remains at 95 percent, but Helms says that was also a record volume captured.
