It’s Tax Day — the last day to file state and federal income taxes.
The IRS and Treasury Department granted an extension from the usual April 15th deadline to May 17th due to Covid-19 and the economic hardships caused by it.
At last check more than 378,000 North Dakota individual income tax returns have been processed. Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger says his office will extend hours of operation until 7:00 p.m. today to provide taxpayer assistance in person and by phone. Rauschenberger continues to encourage taxpayers to e-file and choose direct deposit or electronic payment to help improve accuracy and security.
Taxpayers who need to call for assistance should dial 701-328-1247.
