After dropping men’s hockey in 2009, the University of Minnesota Crookston is reviving the program next season as a Division-two “club team” in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

UMC has hired Steve Johnson as head coach. The Grand Forks Central and UND product was most recently director of Grand Forks Youth Hockey. He previously coached junior hockey in Fargo and Lincoln (NE), and was a college assistant coach at Omaha and St. Cloud State.
