A convicted felon accused of shooting another man at a funeral on an Indian Reservation near Cloquet (MN) now faces federal charges.
The U-S Attorney’s Office says 28-year-old Shelby Boswell of Hugo (MN), is charged with possessing and discharging a firearm in a school zone, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Boswell was previously charged with first- and second-degree felony assault.
On Oct. 18th, authorities say Boswell fired a rifle on the grounds of Fond Du Lac Head Start, which is within 1,000 feet of the high school. During a funeral for Boswell’s grandmother, Boswell allegedly shot his sister’s boyfriend in the back of the head.
The shooting victim was released from a Duluth hospital later that day.
