A Manitoba truck driver sustained minor injuries when his semi hit another semi Thursday afternoon on I-29 about a mile north of Grand Forks.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says at about 1:30 PM, 40-year-old Collin Schroeder of Steinbach was northbound when his Peterbilt rear-ended a Freightliner driven by a 54-year-old Winnipeg man.
Troopers say Schroeder’s rig was traveling faster than the Freightliner. Schroeder’s Peterbilt was heavily damaged, as was the Freightliner’s trailer.
Schroeder was transported by ambulance to Altru with minor injuries.
The right-hand lane of northbound I-29 at the crash location was obstructed for about four hours.
Schroeder was cited for distracted driving resulting in a crash.
