No one was injured when a train struck a pickup truck about a mile south of Thompson (ND) this (Wed) afternoon.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the pickup driver, a 77-year-old Thompson man, was trying to cross the railroad tracks shortly before 2:00 PM near the intersection of 5th Avenue Northeast and 13th Street Northeast.
Troopers say the front of the pickup was disabled when it hit the power unit of the locomotive.
The Patrol says the pickup driver was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
