North Dakota’s Secretary of State predicts more voters than ever will choose options other than showing up to cast ballots on Election Day.
Al Jaeger says it’s not because of voter apathy – but rather COVID-19. Jaeger says vote by mail and early voting options are gaining in popularity. That includes early voting and absentee ballots. Jaeger says looking at absentee ballot demand and past history over half of all ballots may be case prior to the November election.
Jaeger says anyone with questions about the upcoming election should visit vote.nd.gov.
He says residents can also use the website to track vote by mail ballots from the day they were sent out - to the day they arrive back at county offices around the state.
Grand Forks Auditor Debbie Nelson says absentee ballots should start arriving in mail boxes this week.
