Burleigh County has over three times the number of active cases of COVID-19 than Grand Forks County. Health and state officials – including Governor Doug Burgum – met with leaders of Bismarck’s two largest hospital systems over the weekend to discuss availability of beds.
Dr. Michael LeBeau of Sanford’s Bismark region says like all hospitals across the state they are experiencing high demand for a variety of needs – including patients with COVID-19. LeBeau says they have capacity to care for those who need help – but will announce a plan this week to increase bed capacity.
Governor Burgum says the state continues to see record numbers of COVID-19.
North Dakota’s active case count stands at 3,766. There are currently 96 people hospitalized – a new record high.
