North Dakota air travel continues to suffer at the hands of COVID-19. Boardings at the state’s eight commercial airports fell slightly in September. A total of 39,451 passengers took to the skies last month. Travel in 2020 is down nearly 56-percent from one-year ago.
A total of 3,144 people passed through the Grand Forks Airport in September. Traffic at the GFK is off by over 61-percent.
Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission - Kyle Wanner - says “September is seasonally one of our slowest months for air travel in the state of North Dakota and so as expected, we experienced a small dip in passenger volume from August.”
