A tentative contract agreement has been reached between negotiators for the teachers and the Grand Forks School District.
In addition to step and lane changes the package calls for a 0.5% across the board increase in the first year and a 0.75% increase in the second year of the two-year deal. The contract will cost the district another $2.472 million dollars in new money.
The recently concluded 2021 North Dakota Legislature approved a one-percent increase in the per-pupil payment each year of the upcoming biennium. The bill included language that 70% of the new state money be spent on “compensation for non-administrators.”
The agreement still needs to be ratified by both sides. The school board will take a look at the numbers on Monday night.
