(KNOX) –  A Thief River Falls woman accused of cutting a child’s throat waved her omnibus hearing and pleaded not guilty.

Edwina Stoutenburgh, 35, is charged with attempted second degree murder without intent and second degree assault.

Court documents revealed she tried to cut the child’s neck last July but the knife was too dull. The child was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

At the emergency room  Stoutenburgh said demons inside of her took over and she threatened to kill her kids.

A trial has been set for May.
