A shortage of personnel may necessitate Grand Forks PSAP to contract with an outside agency for dispatch services to help fill the gaps.
The Grand Forks council will review a dispatch on demand proposal with the Denver-based company Moetivations when they meet on Monday.
The local Public Service Answering Point is currently approved for 20 staff positions – with six open spots. According to a staff report the current shortage is putting a strain on the ability to adequately staff for workload…extended shifts…and overtime.
The proposed contract would cover a three-month span with a month-to-month renewal until the center is fully staffed.
PSAP handled a record 106,693 calls for service last year.
