U.S. consumers racked up $45.7 billion in credit card debt during the second quarter of 2021. The study by WalletHub projects that consumers will end the year with a net addition of $100 billion in credit card debt – which far exceeds the 10-year average of $45.6 billion. The average household in North Dakota owes $6,081 in credit card debt.
The total amount of debt incurred throughout the state was $1.8 billion dollars. That placed North Dakota 48th overall. Tops was California with $111.2 billion in quarter two.
