By Doug Barrett May 4, 2021 | 8:43 AM

Minnesota may join the ranks of states allowing lottery winners to remain private. The House and Senate have approved bills that would allow a winner’s name to remain private if the cash payment exceeds $10,000. The sponsor of the House bill is Representative Carlie Kotyza Witthun says “In today’s day and age if a bad actor were to seek out a lottery winner in order to do them harm, it’s even easier to locate them and their contact information online.”
The measure passed the House on a 131-zero vote. It passed the Senate 66-zero on April 21st.
