With demolition on the old ralph englestad arena nearing completion ground was broken Thursday on a new 13-million dollar training complex that will sit on the site. The university of north Dakota hopes the 196-thousand-500 square foot building is a game changer for all athletic programs. The complex will include a 100-yard artificial turf field…a 300-meter eight lane track with spectator seating for 15-hundred. Tim o’keefe of the u-n-d alumni association says altru is chipping in nine million dollars towards and project and scheels another one-million.
Phase one of construction is expected to be completed by the fall of 2014.
