Minnesota's Ryan Suter has made the NHL All-Star first team for the first time in his career. Pittsburgh's Chris Kunitz, Montreal's P.K. Subban and Columbus' Sergei Bobrovsky also made the first team for the first time. Washington's Alex Ovechkin made the first team as a right wing and the second team as a left wing.

The Minnesota Wild have waived defenseman Tom Gilbert. The team announced the move yesterday. The 30-year-old Gilbert had one season left on his contract for $3 million.
