This week’s National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) series between North Dakota and Denver will be a showdown of two of the nation’s top three teams, according to the latest national polls released on Monday.

North Dakota, which took five of six points from Miami over the weekend, was ranked No. 3 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, while defending national champion Denver regained the top spot from St. Cloud State in both polls after a one-week absence.

UND received first-place votes in both polls for the first time this season after a 4-1 win and 3-3 overtime tie against the RedHawks. St. Cloud State slotted in between DU and UND at No. 2 in both polls.

The Fighting Hawks visit the Pioneers on Friday and Saturday night at DU’s Magness Arena.
