The National Collegiate Hockey Conference released the 2019-20 league schedule Wednesday. The league is fresh off its fourth consecutive national championship as Minnesota Duluth captured its second straight title last weekend. The NCHC becomes the first conference to win four straight national titles since the WCHA won five in a row from 2002-06.

Like in previous seasons, all eight NCHC teams will play five teams, including their protected rival, in both home and away series, while facing the other two teams for just one series (one home and one away). All eight teams will play 12 home and 12 away conference games. This season, UND will not make the trip to Colorado College (home, Jan. 31- Feb. 1) and will only face Minnesota Duluth for one series in their building (Jan. 24-25).

The conference slate officially takes hold Nov. 8 with Miami making the trip to Grand Forks, N.D. Meanwhile, Denver heads to UMD in a battle of Frozen Four teams from this past season and Western Michigan and Colorado College clash in a rematch of a thrilling three-game NCHC quarterfinal series in 2018-19.

Following the home conference opener with Miami, UND heads to Denver to battle the Pioneers. DU slipped by North Dakota last season in the quarterfinal round of the NCHC playoffs to snap UND's string of 16 straight seasons advancing to the league semifinal round.

North Dakota then returns home to face St. Cloud State, a team that stood atop the national polls for most of the season last year. UND handed the Huskies one of their two league losses in 2018-19, a 5-1 defeat on Jan. 26 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. The teams battle again on Nov. 22-23 in Grand Forks and Feb. 21-22 in St. Cloud, Minn.

After a Thanksgiving pause to conference play, UND makes the trek to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face Western Michigan, Dec. 6-7. The Broncos return the trip in the final regular season home games for North Dakota on Feb. 28-29.

Omaha comes to town on Jan. 10-11 and again ends the regular season with a series at Baxter Arena on Mar. 6-7.

Following the regular season, the NCHC Tournament begins with the best-of-three quarterfinal series March 13-15, 2020 with the top four seeds hosting the bottom four seeds on campus sites. The series winners then advance to Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn. for the seventh annual NCHC Frozen Faceoff on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, when a champion will be crowned. Minnesota Duluth won the Frozen Faceoff for the second time in three years in 2019. The Frozen Faceoff winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, as well.

All dates listed are subject to change and times are all still to be announced. The television schedule with NCHC nationally and regionally televised games will be unveiled as the season nears. The non-conference portion of North Dakota's schedule will be announced Thursday.

The NCHC is coming off another banner season following its sixth year of competition. Three NCHC teams made the 2019 NCAA Tournament, with Denver making the Frozen Four and Minnesota Duluth repeating as National Champions, giving the NCHC a four-peat. The NCHC has now placed 23 teams in the NCAA Tournament and 10 teams in the Frozen Four in its six-year history. Five NCHC teams finished the 2018-19 season ranked in the top 20 nationally in the USCHO.com Poll, including North Dakota at No. 20.

Season ticket renewals for the 2019-20 season are available online now with a renewal deadline of Friday, May 31.
