After developing into one of the top players in University of North Dakota history, and as one of the premier forwards in the country in 2018-19, Lexi Klabo will showcase her skills at the ProHoops Combine in conjunction with the Women’s Final Four in Tampa, Fla.
Held April 6 at Tampa Prep High School, the invitation-only combine gives the top college seniors an opportunity to be evaluated by WNBA coaches and General Managers, and foreign coaches and before the draft.
“I’m very excited. It’s another opportunity that I’m looking forward to,” said Klabo, “I’ve just been preparing and tuning a couple of things this past week. I’m just going to go out and try my best, showcase my abilities and have some fun.”
“This is a great opportunity for Lexi. This shows the foundation she’s built here at UND through our player development program, as well as her body of work over the last four years,” said Head Coach Travis Brewster. “She has the skills, and her hard work has prepared her for success beyond college basketball. These types of events are about showing what you can do, and not reinventing the wheel.”
In 124 games at UND, Klabo averaged 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game to close her career with the eighth-most points (1,633) and rebounds (887) in program history. Klabo was a First Team All-Summit League selection this season after finishing second in the conference in both scoring and rebounding with 18.1 points and 8.2 boards per game.
Before the season, Klabo was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Watch List and was also named a Semifinalist for the award as one of the top-10 small forwards in the country by the Basketball Hall of Fame and WBCA. She was also twice named to the Big Sky’s All-Conference team, earning first team accolades as a junior.
