Four members of the UND Men’s Hockey team have been suspended for the opening game of the 2012-13 regular season.  Athletic Director Brian Faison says the suspensions stem from a violation of team rules.  It followed a team party on September 15th.   Senior Captain Andrew Macwilliam and Assistant Captains Corban Knight…Danny Kristo…and Carter Rowney will miss the opener October 19th against Alaska Anchorage.   In prepared remarks Faison says the behavior in this situation was unacceptable.   Faison says measures taken by the athletic department do not preclude possible additional measures by the department or actions by the university or local authorities.   In addition to the suspension Faison announced several additional team disciplinary measures including:  weekly team alcohol education programming…a mandatory team community service program…and any further violations by a team member could result in reduction of scholarship…suspension from competition…or expulsion from the program.
