As students return to the classroom after the Thanksgiving break health officials will be on hand at Valley Middle School to begin screening 90 students and staff for TB. Last week a student at the school came down with an active case of Tuberculosis. Although traced to other cases in Grand Forks the student has no connection with two students who are being treated for TB at Phoenix Elementary School. Health Director Don Shields says there was never a concern about delaying the screening process for Valley students until after the holidaybreak. There were no positive tests among students and staff screened at Phoenix Elementary school. Grand Forks has identified 13 active cases of TB since September and 15 since last March.
