Don’t expect a quick warm-up now that old man winter has passed the baton to spring. the climate prediction experts are calling for temps in the red river valley to continue to trend below normal – at least for now. Mark ewens of the national weather service office in grand forks says the arrival of an el nino could heat things up in may and beyond.
ewens says a Spring-summer el nino can also result in more significant weather events for the upper Midwest in june and july.
he says it’s something the office will be watching as we move towards the summer months.
Just in time for spring a winter storm warning is posted for the northern red river valley.
