Spring flooding in the RRV getting underway

Rivers and streams are starting to respond to recent snowmelt conditions in the Red River Valley.  The Red River in Grand Forks / East Grand Forks is up better than two feet since last week and is now over 18 feet and climbing.  Flood stage is 28 feet.  Fargo is expected to hit and exceed flood stage today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for:

    Red River of the North at Fargo affecting Cass and Clay Counties.

    Wild Rice River (ND) near Abercrombie affecting Richland County.

    Maple River near Enderlin affecting Ransom and Cass Counties.

    Red River of the North at Wahpeton affecting Wilkin and Richland Counties.

    South Branch Buffalo River at Sabin affecting Clay County.

    Buffalo River near Dilworth affecting Clay County.

    Sheyenne River near Kindred affecting Richland and Cass Counties.
