RRV spring flood potential increases slightly

By Doug Barrett Feb 24, 2023 | 8:55 AM

The River Forecast Center now predicts the “Red” to top out this spring in Grand Forks / East Grand Forks at around 38.5 feet. That’s the 50-50 mark on the latest flood outlook issued Thursday. While that’s four feet higher that the forecast released two weeks ago the National Weather Service says it’s still below historical averages. Snow…rain…and the rate of snowmelt in the coming weeks and months will impact the crest. Flood stage is 28.
