North Dakota is remembering its fallen law enforcement officers today. On Tuesday over 100 law types from throughout the region participated in a ceremony outside the courthouse steps in grand forks.
Bagpipes played as those in attendance paid tribute to peace officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. Since the first of the year 41 officers have been killed across the u-s. sixty-one north Dakota law enforcement personnel have died in the line of duty over the years. Lt-governor drew Wrigley told those in attendance that those who protect and serve have helped make our homes safe and free. Flags will fly at half-staff today as a tribute to peace officers memorial day.
