The city of grand forks is planning to rehab and replace most of the traffic signals in the downtown area. As part of the two-point-six million dollar project two of the signal lights will be eliminated: bruce avenue and north fifth and the light at north fourth street and first avenue north. The remaining eight traffic signals will be repainted... revamped...and equipped with cameras to speed traffic flow. Federal funds will pay for the majority of the project with the local share pegged at some 855-thousand dollars. The upgrade is expected to be completed this construction season.
