The president of Northland Community and Technical College delivered some encouraging enrollment news during the 2023 State of the College address (Thursday).
After reporting a decade-long 45% decline in enrollment a year ago Sandy Kiddoo says student numbers this fall are up 3.8% on a full-year equivalent basis – and 6.5% in total headcount. Kiddoo says it illustrates a growing trend of more students taking classes part-time.
Kiddoo says NCTC has also made financial strides by eliminating a $2.5 million dollar structural budget deficit from one year ago.
The NCTC leader highlighted a theme of “Stronger Together” during the remarks with renewed emphasis on key subject areas of healthcare… aerospace…construction trades…and pathways for public service.
With 170 employees NCTC spends around $46.5 million dollars on campus operations in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls.
