Walsh county authorities have identified the man believed to have been swept away by floodwaters southwest of minto (nd) Monday evening. Authorities say 55-year old Gregory miller was alone in a pick-up on a gravel road when he encountered water on the roadway. The vehicle was quickly swept off the township road that was inundated by fast movingfloodwaters. miller was able to call a friend for help shortly after seven p-m. according to the walsh county s-o when the friend arrived they exchanged waves. The friend left to try and get closer and when he returned miller was gone. An initial search was done by the minto fire department…border patrol using thermal imaging and a volunteer pilot. An oslo (mn) fire department airboat…border patrol helicopter…and the grand forks county water rescue unit joined the search on Tuesday.
