Welcoming Community Roadmap

A committee charged with coming up with ideas on how to welcome new residents to Grand Forks is asking the public to weigh in on the draft plan.
Around 62 community members poured over data and demographic reports before focusing efforts on four major themes. Those include: access to services…advancement opportunities…economic improvement…and a connected community.
Committee Chair Robin David says the Welcoming Community Roadmap project beings together existing welcoming efforts and inspires the challenge that Grand Forks become known as the best place to move to. David adds that issues such as transportation…housing…and making connections can be challenging for people from other countries as well as U-S families relocating.
The public comment period runs until September 24th. The committee will use the input to revise the plan before presenting it to the city council in mid-October.
