The University of North Dakota’s fall enrollment is down slightly according to the fourth week count. A total of 14-thousand-406 students are hitting the books on campus – down one-point-four percent from last year. Despite the slight decline the number of new freshmen increased one-percent and there was a five-percent bump in transfer students. Both the School of Law and School of Medicine posted gains.
In a prepared statement U-N-D President Mark Kennedy says he’s pleased with the high quality of the incoming freshman class. Kennedy also noted that U-N-D is just now ramping up a new marketing effort which should result in an even more prepared group of students next year and increased enrollment – both on campus and online.
