UND atmospheric sciences professor Leon Osborne dies at 63

Longtime University of North Dakota professor of atmospheric sciences Leon Osborne died Tuesday at his home after battling cancer.
He was 63.
Osborne was a UND faculty member since 1979 and was a Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Sciences, and director of the Regional Weather Information Center and the Surface Transportation Weather Research Center.
Osborne’s funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday at Sharon Lutheran Church.
